Who are we?

Our products rely on 176 years of know-how, passed from generation to generation.

How it all started, 176 years ago …

Putte, 1832.  Amandus Op de Beeck established the first nursery.
“Old Mandus” really puts his heart and soul in to the company.  In 1899, almost 70 years later, he hands it over to his sons Gustaaf and Jozef.

Op de Beeck becomes Van Pelt

For many years Gustaaf and Jozef Op de Beeck work together as a team but in 1937 they separated.
Gustaaf took over the original part of the nursery and Jozef started his own company.
In 1953 Antoon Van Pelt bought both established and well renowned nurseries.  A few years later, in 1965, N.V. Boom- en Rozenkwekerijen Van Pelt was born.

Continuity is assured!

Sadly, Antoon passed away in 1971.  Much earlier than expected, his son Paul Van Pelt – only 22 years old at the time – took over the running of the company.
He soon proved to be a very efficient and successful manager.  In 1990 he considerably expanded the nursery.
And continuity is assured!
Also his son Philip joins the company.
In 2003 we celebrated our 50th anniversary.
