A perennial with an upright growth habit. The plant can reach a height of 60 to 80 cm. Numerous white flowers appear in umbel-shaped clusters from June to September. The leaves are narrow and lance-shaped, without noticeable autumn coloration. Achillea ptarmica grows best in a sunny to partially shaded location with moist, well-drained soil. The plant is versatile and can be used in borders, natural gardens, along ponds, or in flower meadows. It is very winter-hardy and fairly resistant to diseases and pests. The plant is not poisonous and is sometimes even used medicinally.
