This perennial plant has a low, spreading habit and can reach a height of 30 cm. Yellow flowers appear from May to November. The leaves are grayish-green and hairy, forming a rosette on the ground. Hieracium pilosella prefers a sunny location in dry, poor soil. This plant grows naturally on dunes and sandy grasslands and is suitable for use as ground cover, green roofs, dry lawns, and natural landscaping. It is very winter-hardy and highly resistant to pests and diseases.
