Our nursery products are rooted in more than 185 years of family history, passed on from generation to generation.
Putte, 1832. Amandus Op de Beeck starts the first tree nursery. Amandus ( “Old Mandus” in the local language) puts his heart and soul into the company until 1899 when, at nearly 70 years old, he handed it on to his sons Gustaaf and Jozef.
Gustaaf en Jozef Op de Beeck part ways in 1937. Gustaaf takes over the original part and Jozef starts a nursery in his own name'Joseph Op de Beeck Boom & Rozen Kwekerijen'. (tree and rose nurseries)
In 1953 Antoon Van Pelt takes over the now widely known tree nursery. A few years later, in 1965, he gives the company his own name and, N.V. Boom- en Rozenkwekerijen Van Pelt (van Pelt tree an rose nurseries) is born.
In 1971, Antoon dies unexpectedly. That's how his son Paul Van Pelt suddenly finds himself, at the age of 22, heading the company. He nevertheless instantly proves to be a passionate and purposeful entrepreneur. In 1990, he makes substantial expansions to the nursery. In 2003, we celebrate our 50th anniversary. In June 2023, grandson Rens joined our team after internships in France and Germany.
Today Van Pelt continues to flourish on 45 hectares of agricultural grount. 20 experienced professionals grow trees for avenues and parks, roses, ornamental plants, conifers and container plants. In doing so, they use the latest cultivation techniques to ensure that you can get plants that are of the highest quality and affordable.

Van Pelt zet zich actief in om de schade te beperken. Zo herleiden wij het gebruik van onkruidverdelgers tot een minimum door mechanische systemen te gebruiken. Sinds begin 2007 zijn we aangesloten bij het Milieu Plan Sierteelt.
Wij spelen kort op de bal dankzij een geoliede organisatie. Die garandeert snelle levertijden, een betrouwbare service en een vlotte administratie. Ook voor deskundig advies kunt u bij Van Pelt terecht.
